winter 2010

working together to generate value

Welcome to the winter edition of Supplier Connect - the quarterly
update that provides a regular news and information service for our
suppliers.

Connect keeps you informed of the latest developments at Buying Solutions; updates you on key public
sector procurement issues and provides you with an opportunity to input your views and suggestions.

The overall aim is to exchange information and ideas to enable us to work together more closely and
effectively.

In this edition, we update you on the latest customer satisfaction survey as results reach
an all time high. Customer satisfaction is at the heart of our brand and we recognise that
you, as suppliers, play a key part in this and we thank you for your significant contribution.

Whilst these results are encouraging, we know that given the current economic climate
and the pressure on public sector budgets and resources, we have a very challenging
time ahead and will be working closely with you to meet customer needs effectively to our
mutual benefit.

In the health sector, we update you on the integration of key parts of NHS Purchasing
and Supply Agency (PASA) into Buying Solutions. This major change to consolidate
the procurement of commodities in this sector will enable further efficiencies to be made
and provide suppliers with further cross selling opportunities.

Alongside savings and efficiencies, sustainability is a key issue for those involved in public sector procurement. We update you on our Sustainable Solutions marque and provide some advice on how you can help your customers achieve their sustainability targets.

As well as this eNewsletter, further information on making the most of your relationship with Buying Solutions can be found on our website and in our new Buying Solutions Supplier Guide.

As always, we welcome your views about the items we have covered or indeed any aspect of your work with Buying Solutions and our customers. We’re keen to ensure that the content and format of this publication reflects your input.

So, don’t hesitate to contact us. Simply email, marking your note for the attention of Supplier Management, or call 0345 410 2222 and we will respond promptly.
