Sustainable procurement, and the wider ‘Policy through Procurement’ agenda, continues to be of key importance to public sector purchasers. Our customers are faced with the triple challenge of delivering better public services, more efficiently and more sustainably.
Buying Solutions’ customers can already source a range of goods and services to help them meet their sustainability targets. Renewable energy, sustainably sourced timber products, water-saving devices and environmental consultancy are just some of the contracts available – while our Green Ticks facility helps customers to buy products meeting the Government’s sustainability standards.
But we can do more! Buying Solutions aspires to play a leading role in delivering sustainable procurement for public services. And we will only achieve this by working with our suppliers - to improve the sustainability of the goods and services on offer, and of the supply-chains that deliver them.
Buying Solutions is launching a new Sustainable Solutions ‘marque’. This will enable us to more effectively demonstrate to customers the wide and growing range of ways in which we can help them to meet their sustainability targets. You can expect to see ‘Sustainable Solutions’ widely used across our marketing communications in coming months.
As part of these activities, we are particularly interested in your sustainability success stories.
