Integration of PASA procurement activities strengthens our credentials and commitment to the health sector
Last month we announced that key parts of the former NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency (NHS PASA) have integrated into Buying Solutions, further strengthening our ability to deliver maximum value and efficiencies to customers in health sector procurement.
With the transition now complete, work begins on the integration phase, including:
- Engagement with suppliers and customers to explore areas for improvement
- A complete review of framework agreements to remove any duplication and fill any gaps in the combined offerings
- The transfer of IT business intelligence systems that previously supported PASA, into Buying Solutions
As a reminder, the PASA core categories and functions that have integrated with Buying Solutions are:
- Energy has joined our Energy category
- Fleet has become part of our Travel category
- Estates and Outsourcing, including sourcing and legal support for the development of the ProCure21+ framework agreement, will join the Buying Solutions Property Solutions Category
- ICT Hardware, Telecare and Telecoms have become part of our Hardware category
- Professional Services, Temporary Staffing and Audit have joined our Professional Services team
- Learning and Development tools and services
The transfer of these categories to Buying Solutions has been brought about as a result of the publication, in May 2009, of the new Commercial Operating Model by the Department of Health (DH) Necessity - not nicety.
